kozeee Unisex Heated Jacket
Article kindly reproduced thanks to TakTik Bitch.

The clocks have gone back, the summer has just gone and it's time we started thinking about buying a new winter coat. But what about one with inner heating? Designed to keep you warm when on the piste, up a Munro or even just standing about watching the fireworks, kozeee has produced a funky little number that both looks good and works a treat!

I liked this jacket as soon as I saw it.

Unlike a lot of outdoor clothing which is heavy and bulky, the fleece-lined kozeee jacket is lightweight and comfortable. Even without the addition of the heating pads in the side pockets and lower back, this would be a stylish, water resistant, warm jacket that can go with pretty much anything. And it's got removable sleeves so you get two garments for the price of one! This was a real selling point for me as I've got a small frame but am very healthily endowed in the chest department and normally need to buy clothes a few sizes too big. As a result, bulky winter jackets can make me look like a puffball but not only did this one not do that, when I took the sleeves off I stayed warm without all the extra bulk around my arms.

London was experiencing a distinct lack of snow when I tested this jacket out and I had a severe lack of camping trips booked. Instead, I wore it home on a cool night without the use of the heating pads (very warm and comfortable) and then tried out the heating pads on a very cold night in the flat, with all the windows open, for hours. I have to say, I was impressed. I actually got so warm wearing the jacket that I took it off and curled under it like an electric blanket instead - just marvellous.

And while it may not be designed for this, I'd definitely recommend using this jacket if you suffer from lower back pain, especially if it's one of your monthly symptoms - the back pad is perfectly placed to spread warmth right where it's needed, very soothing indeed.

The system is really easy to use - there are three heating pads and one battery, with five different levels, 1 being the lowest. Once the battery is fully charged (about three hours), you just plug the main pad into the battery which has its own pocket within the jacket, select the level of heat you want and off you go. If you're moving around and producing your own body heat, you can choose a lower setting and the battery should last around 9 hours. I did find that the battery wore down quite quickly when I had it on five, but five is actually pretty darn warm! The weight of the battery is absorbed by the jacket and you don't even notice it's there.

The instructions were clear and straightforward though I did get a little confused as they said the LED would go green when the battery was fully charged but actually, you need to unplug the battery from the charger for that to happen. When the battery is displaying '9', you're good to go.

There are four sizes, from Medium 38-40" through to XX Large 44-48" and and at the moment, just the one colour (black). The jacket I was testing was a little on the large size for me so I also sent it round some other members of the TakTik review team to get their thoughts and what a popular little number it turned out to be! It went down so well in fact that several of us are buying our own - which is about the best recommendation possible.

That's another thing though - the price! At £89.99 this is incredibly good value - I'd spend that much on a new jacket without the heating pads - so this is a real score.

So! Whether it's for you or for a significant other, whether it's for Christmas or because you need a new jacket, or whether it's just because you look great in black, I would definitely check this one out. Bargain!
